Product overview

Washer series and hardness must match the joint

Flat washers that share a nominal thread size can differ in outside diameter, thickness, chamfer and hardness. Those differences can affect bearing pressure, fit and compatibility with coated or high-strength assemblies.

DIN Media lists DIN 125-1:1990-03 as withdrawn and replaced by ISO-based washer standards. ISO 7089:2000 is the current normal-series, product-grade-A review reference used here.

What to include in your RFQ

  • DIN 125 form/edition or accepted ISO series
  • Nominal size and critical dimensions
  • Material and hardness requirement
  • Mating bolt, nut and joint surface
  • Finish and coating compatibility
  • Quantity, packing, inspection and documents

Verified technical note

Legacy DIN and current washer-series reference

Normal and chamfered washer series are separated to avoid a visually similar but incorrect substitute.
