Prototype machining
Low-volume turned or milled parts reviewed for design and fit checks.
Drawing-based turned & milled parts
CNC machined parts sourced against released 2D and buyer-approved 3D data covering datums, GD&T, dimensions, threads, material, heat treatment, surface finish, deburring, inspection, sample approval and production quantity.
A product page is an RFQ starting point, not a blanket capability or compliance claim. Final feasibility, process route, tolerances, testing, lead time and supply scope are stated only in the written quotation.
Quotation control
The released file, revision, units, tolerance scheme, material, process, quantity, inspection and destination are aligned before supplier routing.
| Field | Review basis | Order control |
|---|---|---|
| Part / file basis | Released 2D drawing as the inspection authority plus approved native model when required | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Geometry / tolerances | Datums, GD&T, dimensions, threads, bores, grooves, radii, edge breaks and tolerances | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Material / condition | Exact material specification, condition, heat treatment and required properties | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Process / finish | Turning, milling, drilling, grinding or secondary process only as agreed in the quotation | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Inspection / approval | Critical-feature method, CMM or gage requirement, sample/FAI and dimensional records | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Packing / commercial | Prototype and production quantities, revision control, packaging, labels and destination | Confirmed per RFQ |
Drawing-based sourcing
A 3D model can define complex form, but it does not automatically state inspection datums, tolerances, threads, surface roughness, edge requirements or material condition. A released 2D authority should identify the characteristics used for acceptance.
XHT does not publish blanket machining tolerances because feasibility depends on part size, geometry, material, process sequence, quantity and inspection method. The written quotation records what is actually reviewed.
Controlled RFQ fields
Common CNC-machined-part RFQ fields. The approved drawing and clarification record govern the quotation and inspection plan.
| Selection | Buyer input | Control |
|---|---|---|
| File hierarchy | Controlling 2D drawing, 3D model format, revision and units | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Geometry / GD&T | Datums, position, profile, runout, flatness, concentricity and critical dimensions | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Threads / surfaces | Thread callouts, bores, sealing faces, roughness and cosmetic zones | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Material / treatment | Alloy/specification, stock condition, heat treatment and hardness | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Finish / edge control | Coating, passivation, masking, deburring and edge-break limits | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Inspection / quantity | Prototype/production quantity, FAI, CMM/gages, records and packing | Confirmed per RFQ |
Missing information: XHT may raise clarification points or propose a documented alternative for review. No changed material, dimension, tolerance, process or finish becomes the order basis without buyer approval.
Technical & file control
A tolerance achievable on one turned diameter may not be practical across every profile, material, finish or volume. Capability is reviewed by feature and process route, then stated in the quotation or clarification record.
Before sharing files: Send only technical files you are authorized to transmit. If an NDA, access restriction or special transfer method is required, agree the route with XHT before uploading the file.
Typical sourcing routes
Examples guide the RFQ only. Supplier selection and process feasibility remain subject to the released requirement and written quotation.
Low-volume turned or milled parts reviewed for design and fit checks.
Process, fixture, inspection and repeatability reviewed against forecast volume.
Original drawing, sample and mating interface used to control interchangeability.
Revisions, reports, labels and export packing coordinated across a BOM.
Order coordination
Sampling, inspection, traceability and packing are supplied only when agreed in the quotation and purchase order.
Part number, revision, units and critical notes are identified.
Potential sources and process routes are reviewed against the RFQ.
Approval sample and inspection scope follow the agreed order plan.
Revision, quantity, labels, lot separation and export packing are coordinated.

Drawing RFQ
Send a buyer-authorized PDF drawing, BOM or clear specification through the RFQ form. If a native model or controlled file is required, request an agreed transfer route first.
