A carriage bolt uses a smooth round head and a square section beneath the head to resist rotation during tightening. The square neck must suit the mating hole and material thickness.
DIN designation alone does not define every buyer-controlled field. Confirm the applicable standard edition, tolerances, thread length, mechanical class and coating before comparing quotations.
