Hinges & pivots
Tail formation and clearance controlled around moving parts.
Partially hollow formed fastening
Semi-tubular rivets coordinated by standard or drawing, shank and tail-bore geometry, head form, material and condition, joint stack, hole, roll or flare requirement, setting tooling and finished-joint inspection.
Catalogue ranges are RFQ guidance. Final compliance and joint suitability are controlled by the buyer-approved specification, drawing, installation process and purchase order.
Quotation control
The exact product basis, joint stack-up, dimensions, materials, installation method, quantity and destination are confirmed before sourcing.
| Field | Product information | Order control |
|---|---|---|
| Requested product | Semi-tubular rivet with a partially hollow tail to the approved geometry | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Standard / product basis | Purchased standard and edition or released drawing; tubular depth defined explicitly | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Geometry | Shank diameter, length basis, head form, tail-bore diameter/depth and wall geometry | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Material / finish | Specified steel, stainless, aluminum, brass or other approved alloy and condition | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Joint / installation | Joint stack, hole, support, setting tool and roll/flare or upset requirement | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Inspection / records | Dimensional report, material documents and formed-sample inspection as ordered | Confirmed per RFQ |
Product overview
A semi-tubular rivet has a partial axial hole at the tail that allows the end to roll, flare or upset under the selected tooling. Bore depth, wall, material condition and tail allowance must match the assembly process.
Semi-tubular and fully tubular names are not interchangeable. XHT requires the released drawing or complete geometry, material and setting requirement before quoting.
Common ordering fields
Common semi-tubular enquiry fields. The drawing and approved forming process control the tail geometry and finished joint.
| Selection | Common enquiry options | Control |
|---|---|---|
| Product definition | Semi-tubular type, exact standard or released drawing | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Diameter / length | Shank diameter, length basis, stack thickness and tail allowance | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Tail bore | Hole diameter, depth, wall thickness and end preparation | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Head form | Round, flat, truss, countersunk or drawing-defined head | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Material / finish | Alloy, condition, hardness and surface treatment | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Setting / inspection | Tool and die, formed-tail profile, sample approval and records | Confirmed per RFQ |
Custom supply: Non-standard size, material, head, finish, marking, inspection and packing can be reviewed against a released drawing, approved sample or complete specification.
Technical control
Setting force and final tail shape depend on the partial bore, wall thickness, material condition, stack-up and tooling. The buyer-approved drawing and sample define acceptance for the completed joint.
Applications & supply
Application examples guide the RFQ. Suitability must be verified for the actual joint, service environment and installation process.
Tail formation and clearance controlled around moving parts.
Small formed joints coordinated with material and finish.
Geometry and process supplied only to the governing drawing.
Head appearance, setting sample and packing agreed in advance.
Quality & order coordination
Inspection, certificates, traceability and packing are supplied only when agreed in the quotation and order.
Product basis, joint stack-up and critical fields are recorded.
Cluster suppliers are compared against the confirmed requirement.
Dimensions, materials, finish and test records follow the agreed plan.
Labels, lot separation and shipment details are coordinated.
