Tapped housings
Insertion-end engagement and fit matched to the mating material.
Asymmetric thread-end studs
Tap-end studs with a shorter insertion end and longer nut end, coordinated by the thread and fit at each end, engagement length, plain-body geometry, material, finish and approved assembly drawing.
Catalogue ranges are RFQ guidance. Final compliance is controlled by the buyer-approved standard edition, drawing, specification and purchase order.
Quotation control
The exact standard or drawing, thread, length basis, material, finish, quantity and destination are confirmed before sourcing.
| Field | Product information | Order control |
|---|---|---|
| Requested product | Tap-end stud with asymmetric threaded ends | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Standard / drawing | Buyer-identified standard and edition or released drawing | Governing basis confirmed |
| Geometry | Overall/body length, tap-end and nut-end thread lengths, body diameter and end detail | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Material / grade | Specified steel, stainless grade or other buyer-approved material | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Assembly scope | Stud only or stated nut, washer, locking and end-protection scope | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Records | Dimensional report, material certificate, marking and traceability as ordered | Confirmed per RFQ |
Product overview
A tap-end stud may use a shorter engagement end and a longer nut end, with different fit requirements at each side. Thread series, engagement, body diameter, runout and orientation must be recorded separately.
Some legacy standards identify a tap-end length as a multiple of diameter, but editions and project drawings differ. XHT does not infer the geometry from a commercial name or historical reference.
Common ordering range
Common tap-end stud enquiry fields. The approved standard edition or drawing controls every end-specific dimension and fit.
| Selection | Common enquiry options | Control |
|---|---|---|
| Tap end | Diameter, pitch/TPI, fit, engagement length and thread condition | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Nut end | Diameter, pitch/TPI, fit, thread length and protrusion | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Length / body | Overall length, plain-body length, diameter, relief and runout | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Material / properties | Steel or stainless grade with required heat treatment and properties | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Finish / locking | Surface treatment, patch, sealant or locking method when specified | Confirmed per RFQ |
| Assembly / packing | Nut, washer, orientation, end identification and protective packing | Confirmed per RFQ |
Custom supply: Non-standard thread, length, material, end treatment, marking, accessories and packing can be reviewed against a drawing, approved sample or complete specification.
Technical control
Tap-end terminology is not globally uniform. Quote by exact standard number and edition or by a released drawing that separates the insertion-end and nut-end requirements; do not assume that the two ends use the same fit or thread length.
Applications & supply
Application examples guide the RFQ. Suitability must be verified for the actual connection, service environment and governing specification.
Insertion-end engagement and fit matched to the mating material.
Stud orientation and nut-side assembly controlled by drawing.
Material, heat treatment and locking method specified separately.
Original drawing or approved sample used to prevent mismatch.
Quality & order coordination
Inspection, certificates, traceability and packing are supplied only when agreed in the quotation and order.
Standard edition, drawing revision and critical fields are recorded.
Cluster suppliers are compared against the confirmed requirement.
Threads, dimensions, finish and documents follow the agreed plan.
End protection, labels, bundles and shipment details are coordinated.
